The Dragon Dance

Hulutang (葫芦堂) is a Daoist temple and school.

In the Dao, the foundation of everything comes from the unity of man and nature (天人合一). Our Shifu Miaoxiao Sun (孙渺宵)is a purist believer in the ancient Chinese philosophies and arts through our Grandmaster Jindong Xu lineage (徐金栋), who was one of the co-founders of the re-built Southern Shaolin Temple (南少林寺) in Quanzhou, China. Shifu Sun has been practicing for 30 years and conducts annual exchanges with Southern Shaolin Temple and Yuan Miao Daoist Temple. He is committed to pass on Chinese ancient treasures including Kung Fu, Chinese medicine and Daoist cultivations in the West. Traditional Lion Dance is both synonymous with Chinese New Year and Chinese Kung Fu Schools, students of martial arts schools were called upon to show their martial prowess through the lion and dragon. The dragons and lions are normally blessed by a Daoist ritual that takes place by a Daoist practitioner. Shifu Miaoxiao Sun presenting his caligraphy to the head of Kung Fu monk at Shaolin Temple. We have a serious and high standard Dragon & Lion dance team. The team is formed of committed and experienced Kung Fu students bringing alive dragons and lions to any event.
